Why today you may think? Well, today exactly a year ago I decided to change the old Facebook group called Wildlife and Creatures into Life to Legend. Shortly thereafter, on the 14th of December, I bought the domain name and started what now is a solid educative and informative website for artists. Starting a blog is a huge gamble. You need to write a lot of articles before it’s even noticed, to begin with. I knew this beforehand, and I knew it would take at least a year before I would see results, This is because I’m simply not able to write more than one article a week. But after nearly 1000 workhours on this project, I can finally say that it was worth it!
Starting your journey as an artist can be really frightening. There are many things you need to know, which can be really overwhelming. Where do you start? What do you need to know to get started? But also: What is irrelevant when you just get started? In many cases ‘less is more’. This counts for information too. Not saying though that you should have little knowledge, not at all. When it comes to knowledge: The more the better. But when you’re new in this field, many things will do nothing but overwhelm you and a lot of the information out there will be irrelevant up to a much later stage. So what is important when you’re new to (digital) art?
There are many scammers out there, and many ways they can scam you ánd others at the same time. Back in the days, it was a mastery to make a forgery of an existing artwork. These days, one just needs a free art-program to steal your art, or even simply just copy and paste. So, how to protect your art from plagiarism and copyright infringements in this day and age?
