The Yowie and other cryptid humanoids

Unless you live in Australia, you may not have heard of the Yowie, but you surely know the Sasquatch, Yeti, or bigfoot! Maybe you even heard of the Barmanou, Chuchuna, or Almas. They are all the same kind of creatures people see throughout the world with roughly the same features. But no real evidence has been found to prove their existence. Because of this reason, they are still considered to be mythical creatures. Remarkable about this ‘family’ is that you can find them throughout the whole world!

How Life to Legend (LtL) came to be

Life to Legend is an initiative, especially for artists. The focus is around creature design, but it really doesn’t stop there. It’s a website built to create a community throughout a forum, the Facebook counterpart (Wildlife and creature design) and basically, anyone that enjoys coming here, now, and in the future. For illustrators, painters, sculptors, people in the gaming- and film industry, and even writers. People that love wildlife and creature design, but also people are just into art. So, how did this website come to be? Let us continue!

What makes a good creature design

Creature design is a wonderful subject. Few artists didn’t attempt at least once to make a creature design work. Be that a hybrid, a whole new creature, or maybe a design that roots into some form of technology. But what makes a good creature design?
Surrounded by fauns and mermaids, chimera and centaurs, one may think ‘oh, creature design is easy, we take one part, and add another animal part, maybe even a third and we’re done. But it isn’t that simple. Sure, we can make wonderful creature designs by cutting and pasting animal parts, but true creature design is FAR more than that.

Immortal jellyfish, phoenix of the ocean.

She may not look the part, but this jellyfish is the only true immortal creature on this planet we know of.
Turritopsis dohrnii, also known as the ‘Immortal Jellyfish’ is a small jellyfish that left researchers baffled, and to this day is of great interest for those that seek longivity and immortality. Damage it, stress it, or even kill it, it still won’t die.
